The Foxhound Club of North America
Mission Statement
Membership in The Foxhound Club of North
America is open to anyone and everyone who is
interested in our
sport. The object of the Club is to promote and further interest in the
selection, breeding and development of the Foxhound as used in the
pursuit of foxes, coyote, or other legal quarry, by mounted followers.
We endeavor to promote this interest through the support of shows,
seminars, publications, videos and demonstrations. The Club is financed
by the payment of modest dues, plus the sale of our publications and the
Club lapel pin. Each year a substantial portion of our income goes
toward the financial support of ten different sanctioned hound shows
throughout North America.

There is little doubt that the Foxhound, as a breed, has shown great
improvement in conformation over the past 15 to 20 years. Hound shows
provide an outstanding opportunity to see your hounds in comparison with
other packs, to see the success of other bloodlines, and to evaluate the
best breeding program for your own hunt. Shows are becoming increasingly
popular as are foxhound performance trials
which the FCNA started in 2000.
Clearly, the more members who support the
FCNA, the more money we will have to deliver to our ten shows. The
improvement of the breed directly relates to the improvement of our
sport. For this reason, we urge you to become a member of the FCNA and
personally support the hounds which give us our great sport.
